キャピラノ大学は、ノースバンクーバーにキャンパスを構える公立大学です。ダウンタウンから車で20分ほどのアクセスしやすい場所にありますが、キャンパス周辺はとても自然豊かで、集中して学習に取り組むことができます。全体で70を超えるプログラムを設けており、その中から自分の興味のある分野を学ぶことができます。また、毎年2500人近くの留学生を迎えており、留学生のみで構成されたプログラムも設けられていますので、英語力に不安のある方でも安心して受講できます。

Tourism Management for International Students Diploma 受講
キャピラノ大学は、キャンパスも綺麗で設備も整っている為、とても良い環境の中で勉学に取り組むことができます。このプログラムは、インターナショナルの生徒のみで構成されているので、韓国、中国、インドネシア、ブラジルなどといった様々な国籍の友達をたくさん作ることができました。クラス内に日本人は私しかおらず、大学全体を見ても日本人の割合は少ないと感じましたが、私にとってはこれが英語上達に繋がる良い環境だったと思います。私が受講したこのプログラムでは、観光業界（ホテルやレストランなど）で働くうえでの必要な知識やマナーなどを、授業と課外活動を通して学んでいきました。課外活動では、ウィスラーやオカナガンなどに行き、実際に観光業界で働いている方の話を聞くことできました。また、プログラムの一環として、Co-opと呼ばれる実習があり、現地の企業で計280時間の就労経験を積むことができます。卒業後、実際にその企業で就職する生徒もいるので、自分の働きたいエリアでのコネクションを作る意味でも、この実習はとても良い機会になると思います。特にバンクーバーでは観光業が盛んで、需要もたくさんあります。また、この2年のプログラムを無事に卒業できれば、現地に残って働くことのできるビザを取得することができるので、カナダで将来的に観光に携わる仕事がしてみたい、という方にはとても良いプログラムだと思います。 -
